WaterAid Australia and World Toilet Day activities today
WaterAid Australia and the Australian Toilet Organisation are staging the ‘Where would you hide?’ exhibit again this year to promote sanitation in developing countries. This time the exhibit is in Brisbane, last year it was in Melbourne.
If you have an opinion on the issues, please have your say in the debate:
Adam Laidlaw, Chief Executive, WaterAid Australia- The Punch
Scott Chapman, President of the Australian Toilet Association – ABC Drum Unleashed
Tracee Hutchinson has just interviewed Adam on Radio Australia Today and you can get the audio file here.
Yesterday the Senate passed a resolution calling for sanitation funding in the aid budget, which was negotiated through by Australian Greens Senator Rachel Siewert. (Both the Herald-Sun and Courier-Mail are running a whiny complaint from the ultra-conservative Senator Fierravanti- Wells, from the Senate debate.)
James Wicken from WaterAid Australia did a long interview on Melbourne Radio 3CR this morning and ABC 612 did a cross to the event in Brisbane.
The Red Cross did an event in Sydney this morning, which is being covered online.
