Solar White House boost for President Nasheed of the Maldives
We are happy tonight in the Maldives to hear that US President Barack Obama has agreed put solar PV for the White House. Our job here is to install solar PV on Muliaa'ge, the ‘White House of the Maldives’.
Maldivian President Mohamed Nasheed will help install the PV on his roof because he has skills from when he was a carpenter.
The Sungevity team and I are working in a tiny conference room in the ‘West Wing’ of Muliaa'ge, on an international conference call, accommodating the news about Obama into our plans.
Much of the impetus for this victory comes from my friend Danny Kennedy, who founded Sungevity and began the Globama campaign. Have a look at the iQuote for the White House here and the letter which Danny wrote to Barack Obama.
This is solar’s time in the sun.
