Renewable energy industry downgraded in Australian Budget - ABC Radio National
Today’s Breakfast show on ABC Radio National interviewed me for a package on the Budget cuts to renewable energy programs. The reporter was the ABC’s excellent environment editor, Gregg Borschmann.
You can download the audio clip.
ABC description of the segment:
The environment barely rated a mention in this week’s budget, and the renewable energy industry was particularly hard hit. Funding cuts and spending deferrals came in at more than half a billion dollars. The National Solar Schools program was wound up. And Labor’s billion dollar promise to modernise the electricity grid to accommodate renewable power looks to be in trouble too.
The other people interviewed were Alex Bergmann (Energywise Living), Senator Christine Milne (Climate change spokesperson, Australian Greens) and John Grimes (Chief executive officer of the Australian Solar Energy Society.
Yesterday Crikey published my analysis of the cuts.
