New CEO role and plan for solar industry association
The renewable energy sector needs to build its power fast. Last year I worked for the Australian PV Association to design a strategy for building the Association and boosting the PV sector in Australia.
One of the key decisions we made in our strategy process was to recruit a part time CEO this year. This will be one of the most exciting cleantech roles created this year.
If you want to know more about APVA and the role, you can download the position description and feel free to contact me for more information. The job has been advertised on Ethical Jobs.
APVA is a small Association, representing an industry that is growing very quickly.
We have a very ambitious but realistic roadmap for the PV sector out to 2030. The CEO’s job is to start driving the Association down that path, by shaping Government policy, shifting business priorities, and helping the community and media get informed.
This is the ‘agile management’ process I used to come up with our plan:
I polled all the companies, government bodies and researchers in the Association, to form a clear view of the scenario that the sector faces and what it needs in the future
The Committee worked with me to create draft objectives and plans for the period 2011-13
I ran a workshop, where we discussed the survey results, honed down our objectives and decided on the key elements of our plan
